PM Modi to Meet German Chancellor Merz
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the 12th of this month in Ahmedabad. Chancellor Merz will be on an official visit to India from January 12 to 13, following an invitation from Prime Minister Modi. This will be his first official visit to India.
During the visit, the two leaders will go to the Sabarmati Ashram, a place closely linked with Mahatma Gandhi. They will also attend the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront, which showcases India’s culture and traditions.
After these events, Prime Minister Modi and Chancellor Merz will hold bilateral talks at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. These discussions will focus on strengthening ties between India and Germany.
The leaders will review the progress of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, which has recently completed 25 years. They will discuss ways to increase cooperation in trade and investment, technology, education, skill development, and mobility.
They will also explore stronger collaboration in important areas such as defence and security, science, innovation and research, green and sustainable development, and people-to-people relations. The visit is expected to further deepen the relationship between the two countries.
