Ganeshapuram ROB Construction Speeds Up in Chennai
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has sped up the construction of the Ganeshapuram Road Over Bridge (ROB) after a three-month delay. Work had stopped in October due to the North-East monsoon, but officials say construction has now resumed at a faster pace.
According to GCC officials, 60% of the work is already completed, and the entire project is expected to be finished by July this year.
Regarding land acquisition, officials said that 90% of the required land has been secured. The Chennai district administration has completed private negotiations for 29 land parcels, while the remaining nine parcels are being acquired through legal procedures.
Once completed, the Ganeshapuram ROB will help reduce traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and make travel faster and safer for commuters in the area.
