Shivakumar on Leadership Talk: Time Will Tell

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on Monday gave a brief and indirect response when asked about his recent meeting with senior Congress leaders in Delhi. His comments came amid speculation about a possible change in leadership in the state government.

Talking to reporters, Shivakumar said that “time will answer everything,” avoiding a direct reply to questions about the meeting. He also strongly stated that he enjoys the support of all 140 Congress MLAs in the state.

He said that the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, also supports him. Shivakumar added that discussions held with the Chief Minister, in the presence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and before the party high command are known only to those involved.

“We know what we discussed and what decisions were taken together,” he said, making it clear that there is unity within the party leadership.
