Sindhu and Lakshya Sen Reach Indonesia Masters Quarterfinals
In badminton, Indian shuttlers P V Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters tournament.
Lakshya Sen defeated Hong Kong’s Jason Gunawan 21-10, 21-11 in the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals. He played strongly and won in straight sets to move forward in the tournament.
In the women’s singles, two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu overcame Line Hojmark Kjaerfeldt of Denmark 21-19, 21-18 in her pre-quarterfinal match. It was a close contest, but Sindhu managed to finish it in straight sets.
Sindhu will now face the top seed and world number four, Chen Yu Fei of China, in the quarterfinals.
Both Indian shuttlers are looking to continue their strong performances as the tournament progresses.
