Vijay Targets DMK, AIADMK at TVK Meeting
Actor-turned-politician Vijay, the president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), spoke to his party members at a meeting in Mahabalipuram on Sunday. He addressed state and district-level leaders and discussed the party’s future plans and the current political situation in Tamil Nadu.
During the meeting, Vijay denied claims that he could be influenced or pressured by other political parties. He firmly rejected the allegations and asked, “Am I someone who will bow to pressure?” He said the only pressure he accepts is from the people of Tamil Nadu and their expectations.
Vijay promised that TVK would follow clean and honest politics. He said the party would focus on good governance and work for the welfare of the people. He also asked party workers to stay united and strengthen the organisation as the 2026 Assembly elections approach. He expressed confidence that TVK would earn the people’s support and win the elections.
Criticising the AIADMK and DMK, Vijay accused both parties of being dependent on the BJP. He said previous governments in the State failed to act independently. He also claimed that the ruling DMK had gone “one step further” and surrendered to the BJP while making attractive promises to distract the public.
Meanwhile, Vijay appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in connection with the Karur rally stampede case. Officials said he cooperated fully and shared information during the five-hour questioning.
Party leaders said the meeting and Vijay’s speech were part of TVK’s efforts to build support and prepare strongly for the upcoming elections.
