President Approves Gallantry Awards for 70 Personnel

President Droupadi Murmu has approved gallantry awards for 70 personnel of the Armed Forces to recognise their bravery and service to the nation. These awards honour soldiers who showed courage and dedication while carrying out their duties. Six of the awards have been given posthumously to remember and respect those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Among the awardees, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been honoured with the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award. He earned this recognition for his outstanding courage and achievements.

Group Captain Shukla also made history by becoming the first Indian to visit the International Space Station. His achievement has brought pride to the country and highlighted India’s growing presence in space exploration.

The gallantry awards reflect the sacrifices and commitment of the Armed Forces personnel who work tirelessly to protect the nation and serve its people.
