Forces Intensify Anti-Terror Operation in Kishtwar District
Security forces on Friday intensified their anti-terror operation in the snow-covered Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation is aimed at tracking down and neutralising three terrorists believed to be hiding in the region.
Officials said the terrorists are linked to the banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad. Based on intelligence inputs, the forces launched a search operation and have surrounded the area to prevent the suspects from escaping.
The operation is being carried out in difficult weather conditions, as the region is covered with snow and has rough terrain. Despite the challenges, the security personnel are continuing their search carefully.
As a precaution, the authorities have temporarily suspended mobile internet services within a six-kilometre radius. The suspension covers areas such as Singhpora, Chingam and Chatroo. Officials said this step was taken to prevent anti-national elements from misusing communication services during the operation.
Security has also been tightened in nearby villages, and people have been advised to stay indoors and cooperate with the forces.
The operation is still ongoing, and further details are expected after it is completed.
