Trump to Announce Gaza Aid Package

US President Donald Trump will lead the Board of Peace meeting today. He is expected to give details about the 5 billion dollars promised for Gaza by 20 countries taking part in the meeting.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the main aim of the meeting is to ensure safety in Gaza during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Leaders will talk about how to bring peace and stability to the region and how to support the people living there.

Leavitt said President Trump will also discuss plans to rebuild Gaza. The United States and other countries are expected to help fix roads, buildings, and basic services. Thousands of personnel may be sent as part of an International Stabilisation Force, along with local police, to help keep peace and maintain law and order.

On Iran, Leavitt said President Trump wants to focus on diplomacy first. The US prefers talks and negotiations instead of military action. She added that it would be better for Iran to make an agreement with the United States about its nuclear programme.

The meeting is being closely watched around the world because its decisions could affect Gaza’s recovery and the overall situation in the Middle East.
