Second Bomb Threat Hits Delhi Assembly
The Delhi Assembly received another bomb threat on Wednesday, just two days after a similar incident, raising fresh concerns about security in the national capital. Despite the repeated threat, authorities ensured that the ongoing Budget session continued without interruption.
According to officials, the latest threat was sent via email at around 9:50 a.m. to the Assembly and the official address of the Speaker. As soon as the alert was received, security agencies acted quickly. Teams including bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs were deployed to thoroughly check the entire Assembly परिसर.
The building and surrounding areas were carefully inspected as a precautionary measure. Security was tightened both inside and outside the Assembly, with additional personnel stationed at entry and exit points. Visitors and staff were also screened more strictly than usual.
Even with the scare, the Budget session began on time at 11 a.m. Lawmakers continued their discussions and proceedings as scheduled, showing confidence in the security arrangements. Officials said there was no need to delay the session as all safety protocols were being followed.
Preliminary checks did not find any suspicious objects, and the threat is being treated as a possible hoax. However, authorities are taking the matter seriously and have started an investigation to trace the source of the email. Cyber teams are working to identify the sender and understand whether the threats are connected.
This is the second such incident in a short span, which has prompted officials to review and strengthen security measures further. Repeated threats like these not only create panic but also put pressure on law enforcement agencies.
Overall, the situation remained under control, and the smooth continuation of the Budget session highlighted the preparedness of security forces in handling such emergencies.
