Mayank Yadav Excited to Return for IPL 2026 with LSG
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav is eager to make his comeback in the upcoming IPL 2026 season after recovering from a long injury layoff. He recently stated that he is fully fit and ready to contribute his best.
Yadav gained attention during IPL 2024, showcasing his pace and aggression. He took seven wickets in four matches that season and went on to earn his T20I debut against Bangladesh later that year. However, his rise was interrupted by injuries.
In IPL 2025, Yadav struggled with a recurring back injury, limiting him to just two matches. His injury resurfaced towards the end of the season, forcing him to miss the remainder. He underwent surgery and spent nearly nine months at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation.
Yadav revealed that he had a stress fracture in his back, which sidelined him for an extended period. He expressed gratitude towards LSG’s management, especially owner Sanjiv Goenka, who supported him throughout his recovery. Yadav aims to be available for all matches in IPL 2026 and hopes to help LSG win their first title.
LSG will kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1 in Lucknow.
