Rohit Sharma and Tilak Verma Visit Kamakhya Temple for IPL
Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma and teammate Tilak Varma visited the famous Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday, seeking spiritual support before Mumbai Indians’ important IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals.
Rohit, known as “Hitman,” is currently in good form, which has fans hopeful for another strong performance from their favorite opener. Despite his team’s training schedule, Rohit took time to travel to the temple, located on Nilachal Hills, a well-known Shakti Peeth shrine attracting devotees nationwide.
At the temple, Rohit offered prayers and performed rituals under tight security while locals gathered to see him. His recent strong batting has made him a key player for Mumbai Indians this season. However, he struggled against Delhi Capitals, scoring 35 runs despite starting well.
Tilak, who is part of the middle-order, hasn’t had as good a start this season and managed only 20 runs against KKR in their first match. He also faced challenges during India’s T20 World Cup campaign.
Mumbai Indians are currently in Guwahati preparing for their crucial match on April 7 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium. They aim to bounce back after losing to Delhi Capitals. With only one win from two games, Mumbai Indians are sixth in the IPL table, while Rajasthan Royals sit fourth with four points.
