Need failures along your journey to remind you how much harder you need to work
Devdutt Padikkal has been one of the most impressive players so far in IPL 2026. His strong performances have helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their first two matches. He scored an excellent 50 runs off 29 balls against Chennai Super Kings and then 61 runs off 26 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, showing how much he has improved as a player.
Padikkal started his IPL journey with RCB as a skilled top-order batter. He had early success and formed strong partnerships. However, as the game evolved, he faced challenges that made him rethink his approach. During a tough phase, he said, “Failures remind you how hard you need to work.”
Dinesh Karthik, Padikkal’s teammate, shared how excited Padikkal was to play for RCB again. He described Padikkal as a determined player who was ready to make a difference.
Padikkal worked hard to improve his game, especially in T20 cricket. He decided to change his style and step out of his comfort zone. His efforts paid off when he scored 247 runs with a strike rate of 150 across 10 matches in 2025.
In 2026, Padikkal’s performances have shown he has matured as a player. He is now calmer and more confident, handling the pressures of IPL better than before. Karthik praised his adaptability and said if Padikkal keeps performing well, Team India should notice him across formats.
With two matches done and already setting high standards, Padikkal’s journey shows the power of hard work, determination, and staying focused on your goals.
