Schwimmer Criticizes Kanye’s Performance at Festival
David Schwimmer has spoken out on social media about companies pulling their sponsorship from London’s Wireless Festival after Kanye West was announced as the headliner. Schwimmer praised Pepsi, PayPal, and Diageo for making what he called a morally correct decision.
He criticized the festival organizers for choosing to profit instead of considering the consequences of inviting West. Schwimmer believes that despite West’s written apology for his past antisemitic comments, it doesn’t make up for years of harmful behavior.
In an Instagram post, Schwimmer thanked the companies for their stance and pointed out the difference between businesses prioritizing profits over values. He described West as a “hate-mongering bigot” and questioned whether someone with such a history should be given a platform to perform.
