U.S. Envoy to India Meets U.S. Commerce Secretary

U.S. envoy to India Sergio Gor met with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to discuss the commercial roadmap for both countries. They focused on opening markets in India, which has 1.4 billion people, for American products.

In a social media post, Mr. Gor shared details of their discussion, including plans for a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to connect India’s AI growth with the U.S. AI ecosystem. They also talked about India’s strong participation in the upcoming SelectUSA Summit. Additionally, they discussed growing investments by Indian pharmaceutical companies in the United States to enhance competition and strengthen supply chains.

Mr. Gor mentioned meetings with Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. He highlighted the importance of expanding U.S.-India investment partnerships and infrastructure growth. Mr. Gor emphasized that all efforts under President Trump’s leadership aim to prioritize American interests and strengthen national security.

The U.S. Department of Commerce noted that Secretary Lutnick and Ambassador Gor are working to expand access for American products in India, with a goal of securing over $500 billion in U.S. exports.
