Caste Migration in Telangana: Different Destinations for Different Groups

In Telangana, different communities often move to different countries for work and better opportunities. For example, when a Lambada family from Mahabubabad district sends a son abroad, he usually goes to cities like Dubai or Riyadh. These places are popular among workers looking for jobs in the Gulf region.

On the other hand, a Brahmin family from Hyderabad is more likely to send their son to countries like the United States or the United Kingdom, with cities such as California and London being common choices.

This pattern is not random. It shows a larger trend across the state. Data suggests that many Dalits and Adivasis from Telangana often migrate to Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. These jobs are usually in sectors like construction, labour, and service work.

In contrast, people from forward castes, such as Brahmins, are more likely to move to countries like the United States and the United Kingdom for jobs in fields like technology, education, and business.

These migration patterns highlight the differences in access to education, job opportunities, and financial resources among communities. They also show how social background can influence where people go and what kind of work they do.

Overall, these trends explain how caste and economic conditions shape migration choices and create different global connections for people from Telangana.
