C.M. Vishnu Prabhu Appointed Trade Ambassador of the India ASEAN Trade Council
In a distinguished ceremony held in New Delhi, Mr. C.M. Vishnu Prabhu was formally appointed as the Trade Ambassador of the India ASEAN Trade Council, marking a significant step toward strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between India and the ASEAN region, which comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste.
The appointment ceremony was attended by an eminent gathering of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, diplomats, business leaders, policymakers, and representatives from various countries, reflecting the growing importance of regional economic partnerships and international trade diplomacy.
Speaking on the occasion, senior dignitaries highlighted Mr. Vishnu Prabhu’s extensive experience in international business relations, trade facilitation, and economic cooperation. The report highlighted India’s growing role as a trusted partner in capacity building, sustainable development, infrastructure cooperation, technology transfer, healthcare, education, and economic diplomacy. It further emphasized the country’s commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and creating mutually beneficial partnerships across developing economies.
Addressing the gathering, representatives of the India ASEAN Trade Council and the United Diplomatic Council reiterated their commitment to advancing regional connectivity, facilitating cross-border investments, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating new opportunities for businesses across India and Southeast Asia.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed call for enhanced economic collaboration, people-to-people engagement, and strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable growth and shared prosperity across the Indo-Pacific region.
