Will Washington Sundar Miss Sri Lanka Tests?
Team India’s injury issues continue as all-rounder Washington Sundar might miss the Test series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury sustained during the ODI series against England in July. According to reports, the BCCI medical team is being cautious with his recovery and has only selected him for the second Test.
Sources indicate that his chances of joining the tour are very low. If he fails to recover in time, India will not name a replacement. Sundar is currently listed as a 16th player but may not be fit enough to play.
India has already lost several key players due to injuries. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana have been ruled out of the series, while Sai Sudharsan and Akash Deep are also unavailable. The BCCI medical team has not provided a timeline for their returns.
The first Test will begin in Galle on August 15, followed by the second Test in Colombo on August 23. These matches hold significant importance for World Test Championship points. India will need to adapt without some of its main players as the series progresses.
