Punjab Police arrest three wanted gang operatives linked to Pakistan’s ISI after extradition from Malaysia
The Punjab Police have brought back three suspected gang members from Malaysia with the help of central government agencies. The three men were wanted in connection with several serious criminal cases in Punjab.
According to Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the suspects were allegedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Police said they were involved in cases related to murder, extortion and the handling of explosives.
The suspects have been identified as Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh. They were arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after being brought back from Malaysia.
Police said the three men were also allegedly connected to a planned hand-grenade attack in Ludhiana. The investigation will focus on their suspected role in the attack and their links with other criminal activities.
After their arrest at the airport, the suspects were taken into police custody and are being transported to Punjab. Investigators are expected to question them about their activities, their alleged links with criminal groups and their contacts in India and abroad.
The Punjab Police and central agencies worked together to bring the suspects back from Malaysia. Their extradition is being seen as an important step in the investigation into organised crime and alleged cross-border links.
Officials will now investigate the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in the cases. Police are also expected to examine whether they were working with other members of criminal networks.
The investigation is still underway, and the allegations against the three men will need to be established through the legal process. Further details are expected to emerge as questioning and investigation continue.
The case highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in dealing with criminal networks that operate across international borders. Cooperation between Indian and foreign authorities can play an important role in tracking down suspects who leave the country after allegedly committing serious crimes.
