Miandad Expresses Concern for Imran Khan

The former Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has faced health issues recently, including partial blindness. On August 18, the Supreme Court ordered his transfer to Shifa International Hospital for treatment, but he was moved to Adiala Jail instead after being admitted to PIMS on August 20-21.

In an interview, Miandad, a former teammate and friend of Imran, expressed concern. “What will happen to him?” he questioned emotionally. He urged authorities to resolve the situation through dialogue, emphasizing unity among Pakistanis.

Reflecting on their shared cricket history, including Imran’s leadership during Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory, Miandad recalled their close bond and time together in England. He stressed that Imran is a devoted leader who should be treated fairly, with no corruption charges against him.

Tears welled up as Miandad pleaded for an end to the prolonged situation, highlighting Imran’s contributions to Pakistan. “He gave everything to his country,” he said, warning of national mourning if anything were to happen to him.

Their partnership in the 1992 World Cup remains memorable, with their 139-run stand crucial to Pakistan’s win over England.
