According to the approved details, a total of 5,165 vacancies have been cleared. Of these, 3,477 posts are for graduate-level candidates, while 1,688 posts are for undergraduate-level candidates.
The vacancies will be available across different zonal railways and railway production units. Candidates from different parts of the country will be able to apply for the posts according to the eligibility conditions and recruitment notification.
The Railway Board approved the vacancies after reviewing the requirements submitted by various zonal railways and production units. The details were examined before the final number of posts was approved.
The approval was issued through a letter dated September 3, 2026, as part of the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) process. The approval is expected to help the Railway Recruitment Boards begin the next steps for the recruitment process.
Graduate-Level Vacancies
A total of 3,477 graduate-level positions have been approved. These posts will be open to candidates who have completed the required graduation qualification.
The graduate-level recruitment is expected to attract a large number of applicants because RRB NTPC jobs are among the most popular government employment opportunities in India.

The exact post-wise vacancy details, eligibility requirements, application dates, examination schedule and other conditions will be provided through the official RRB notification.
The approval of these vacancies is an important step toward the 2026 RRB NTPC recruitment process. Candidates preparing for railway examinations are advised to keep checking official RRB updates and begin their preparation in advance.
With more than 5,000 positions approved, the upcoming recruitment drive is expected to provide a major employment opportunity for eligible candidates across the country.
