Congress MP Complains About KTR’s Comments on CM
Congress leader from Telangana Mallu Ravi has filed a police complaint against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR. The complaint relates to remarks KTR allegedly made about Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Mallu Ravi has claimed that KTR’s comments were abusive and could damage the reputation of the Chief Minister. He has described the remarks as objectionable and alleged that they were made with the intention of harming Revanth Reddy’s public image.
In his complaint, Ravi has asked the police to examine the statements and take appropriate legal action under criminal law. He has also requested that authorities investigate the circumstances in which the remarks were made and shared.
The Congress leader has further asked the police to preserve any electronic evidence connected to the alleged comments. This could include social media posts, online messages, videos, audio recordings or other digital material that may help investigators determine what was said.
Ravi’s complaint comes amid continuing political tensions between the Congress government and the BRS in Telangana. Leaders from both parties have regularly criticised each other over government policies, political decisions and public statements.
According to Ravi, KTR’s remarks crossed the limits of political criticism and amounted to an attempt to tarnish the Chief Minister’s reputation. He has therefore called for the matter to be investigated through the legal system.
The complaint does not itself establish that a criminal offence has been committed. The allegations will have to be examined by the police, and any further legal action would depend on the evidence and applicable law.
The request to preserve electronic evidence could be important if the alleged remarks were made or circulated through digital platforms. Such material can help authorities verify the exact wording, timing and context of statements.
The development is likely to add to the political confrontation between the Congress and BRS. Both sides have continued to attack each other publicly, particularly on issues involving the state government and the conduct of senior political leaders.
For now, Mallu Ravi is seeking legal action against KTR over the alleged remarks. The next step will depend on how the police respond to the complaint and whether they decide to conduct a formal investigation.
The dispute once again highlights how political statements can lead to legal complaints when leaders believe that comments have crossed the line from political criticism into alleged defamation or abuse.
