Eugenio Suárez’s Homerun Lifts Reds Over Brewers

Eugenio Suárez hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 on Sunday. The victory helped the Reds avoid ending their road trip without a win.

The Reds’ pitching staff produced a much better performance in the final game of the series. Milwaukee had scored plenty of runs in the earlier games, but Cincinnati’s pitchers managed to keep the Brewers’ powerful offense under control for most of the afternoon.

The Brewers took an early lead in the second inning when Joey Ortiz hit a long home run. The Reds responded with strong pitching and prevented Milwaukee from extending its advantage.

Cincinnati starter Robert Gasser kept the Brewers in check until the sixth inning. He left the game after giving up a hit, and Antonio Senzatela came in as the relief pitcher.

Senzatela allowed Suárez to come to the plate, and the Reds slugger changed the game with one swing. His three-run homer gave Cincinnati a 3-2 lead and put the Reds in control.

Milwaukee fought back in the seventh inning. Jake Bauers hit his 26th home run of the season to tie the game at 3-3. The Reds, however, responded once again and regained the lead in the eighth.

Tyler Stephenson delivered an important sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, allowing Cincinnati to move ahead 4-3. The Reds’ pitchers then held on to the narrow advantage through the final innings.

Brandon Williamson played an important role out of the bullpen, pitching four strong innings and helping the Reds protect their lead. Emilio Pagán then closed out the game and recorded the save.

The Reds also managed Chase Burns carefully during the game. Burns threw 56 pitches over three innings before being replaced as the team continued to monitor his workload.

The win gave Cincinnati a positive finish to its road trip. The Reds will now return home and prepare for their next series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Brewers will also move on to their next game, with the team still waiting to confirm its starting pitcher. For Cincinnati, the 4-3 victory provided an important boost after a difficult stretch on the road.
