Hockey India President Files Police Complaint Against Four Officials

Hockey India president and former India captain Dilip Tirkey has filed a police complaint against four federation officials, alleging several offences including breach of trust, theft, conspiracy and abandonment.

The complaint was submitted on September 24 to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in South Delhi. Tirkey has sought police action and the recovery of assets and documents that he alleges were taken or withheld.

According to the complaint, one of the incidents involved an official vehicle that had been provided for Tirkey’s use during a visit. The vehicle was reportedly recalled while some of Tirkey’s personal belongings remained inside. The complaint states that the belongings included essential medicines.

The complaint names former Hockey India Director General R.K. Srivastava along with Subodh Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Harminder Singh. Tirkey has made several allegations against the four officials, which will need to be examined by the police.

The complaint comes after earlier differences within Hockey India involving Tirkey and Srivastava. Tirkey had previously removed Srivastava from his responsibilities as Director General and issued him a show-cause notice following internal disputes within the federation.

The latest complaint has added to the ongoing tensions among senior officials of Hockey India. The allegations include serious criminal offences, but they have not been established by a court or through a completed police investigation.

The Delhi Police will now decide what further action, if any, is required based on the complaint and the material available. Any criminal liability will depend on the outcome of the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.

Hockey India is also preparing for an important international schedule as the federation continues to manage its sporting responsibilities alongside internal administrative disagreements.
