Jet Crash in Florida Kills All Nine Aboard
A business jet carrying nine people crashed into a residential area in Florida on Sunday, November 1, 2026, killing everyone on board. US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that all nine people aboard the aircraft died in the accident.
The Learjet 60 had departed from Austin, Texas, and was travelling to the Bahamas when the crash occurred. Following the incident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sent a team to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) with the investigation into the cause of the crash.
According to reports, the aircraft plunged towards a neighbourhood in Palm Beach County before crashing near a busy road. The impact caused a fiery explosion, and the aircraft quickly burst into flames. Thick smoke spread across the area as emergency services rushed to the scene.
Witnesses captured videos showing the jet falling from the sky before hitting the ground and catching fire. The dramatic footage showed the scale of the explosion and the smoke rising from the crash site.
The accident occurred near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North. Authorities closed nearby roads following the crash to allow emergency responders and investigators to work safely. Firefighters worked to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.
Residents in the surrounding area also reported disruptions following the incident. A woman living nearby said that her home experienced a power outage that lasted approximately two hours after the crash.
Authorities have not yet released detailed information about the identities of the nine people aboard the aircraft. The reason behind the crash also remains unknown.
The FAA and NTSB are continuing their investigation to determine what caused the aircraft to crash. Investigators are expected to examine the aircraft, flight information and other available evidence as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
