Alagiri set to fight polls

If my loyalists request me, I am ready to contest from Tiruvarur constituency whether it is byelection, general election or assembly election, M K Alagiri told reporters in Tiruvarur on Sunday. He was in Tiruvarur to attend a Karunanidhi memorial function.

While speaking at the meeting, Alagiri alleged that he had received information that a few people have been asking ‘higherups’ to not conduct the Tiruvarur by-election.

He added that if such an election was conducted, there was a high possibility of him winning despite spending less money than the slab fixed by the Election Commission.
