Actor Rajendra Prasad Apologizes for Remarks About MGR

Renowned Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad recently found himself at the center of a controversy when he made some comments about former Chief Minister and legendary actor M.G.R., also known as “Makkal Thilagam”, during an awards ceremony in Hyderabad. While speaking about another veteran Telugu actor, Kantha Rao, Rajendra Prasad used certain words that many saw as derogatory towards M.G.R.’s reputation.

The video of his speech quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among M.G.R. fans and political figures from Tamil Nadu. The controversy intensified, with many calling for an apology. Not one to shy away from the issue, Rajendra Prasad released a video message offering an explanation and apology.

In the message, he clarified that his words were misunderstood and that he has immense respect and admiration for M.G.R., both as a leader and artist. He apologized sincerely if his speech had hurt anyone’s feelings or caused offense in any way. The controversy has since subsided slightly, with many in the film industry agreeing that caution is needed when speaking about fellow artists.

Both Kantha Rao and M.G.R. are highly respected figures in the South Indian film industry. It is hoped that Rajendra Prasad’s apology will help resolve the tension between fans of both states.
