Avengers vs Dune: ‘Dunesday’ Clash December 18

The biggest Hollywood clash this year, between Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, is set for December 18. However, fans hoping to watch both films on IMAX screens may be disappointed.

The upcoming showdown, nicknamed “Dunesday” by Robert Downey Jr. and Timothée Chalamet, is expected to have a limited reach in premium-format theatres. According to Empire City Box Office, Dune: Part Three has secured exclusive access to IMAX screens. The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, will hold its IMAX release for three consecutive weeks, leaving no premium-format screens available for Doomsday during its opening run.

Interestingly, Dune: Part Three had originally locked in December 18 as its release date, which coincides with the opening of Avengers: Doomsday, making this one of the most talked-about box-office clashes of the year.

Fans will have to choose which film to watch on IMAX or wait for regular screenings, but excitement for both films remains extremely high.
