CBFC Halts Jana Nayagan Certification Before Release

The release of Thalapathy Vijay’s film “Jana Nayagan” has faced a new hurdle, just days before it was scheduled to hit theaters on January 9.

The issue is with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which decided to stop the film’s certification and send it for a fresh review by a newly formed committee. Earlier, the board had indicated that it would give the film a U/A 16+ certificate after some edits.

This sudden move has created uncertainty about the film’s release. Fans and the film team are anxious as arguments are ongoing in the Madras High Court over the certification.

“Jana Nayagan” is widely considered Vijay’s last film before he enters full-time politics, making the delay even more significant for his fans and the movie industry.
