Lithuanian Fighter’s Story Wins Critics’ Pick at PÖFF
A canceled Lithuanian martial arts champion finds shelter in a Taiwanese
family’s restaurant while trying to rebuild his life in China Sea, a powerful
drama about guilt and second chances. The film is directed by Jurgis Matulevičius
(Isaac, 2019) and written by Saulė Bliuvaite, whose first feature Toxic won
the top award at Locarno 2024.
The movie, based on the true story of a Lithuanian fighter, had its world premiere
at the 29th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) in Estonia. It won the
Critics’ Picks Competition at the festival.
