Madras HC Temporarily Pauses Jana Nayagan Release

The Madras High Court on Friday heard arguments in the CBFC’s appeal against a previous order that allowed the release of Vijay’s film “Jana Nayagan.” The court decided to temporarily pause that order.

The bench, led by the Chief Justice, asked why the appeal was filed so quickly and checked if the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had a fair chance to present its side of the case.

The main issue is that the CBFC claims the proper procedures under the Cinematograph Act were not followed when the earlier order was made in favor of the film.

Because of this decision, the previous order allowing the release of “Jana Nayagan” is on hold until the next hearings.
