Mask Explores Morality but Lacks Depth, Substance
In today’s world, is there still such a thing as absolute right and wrong? Maybe
that’s why, in a world where most people act in morally grey ways, those who
play it safe are often seen as “good.” After all, it’s about what you do when
no one is watching and there are no consequences, right?
This idea is central to Mask, the first film by director Vikarnan Ashok.
The movie looks at right, wrong, and everything in between, using a money
heist as the main story. While the film is stylish, it doesn’t have enough
depth or substance to fully explore its themes.
