Multiple Indian Films Enter Academy Awards Competition
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released this year’s General Entry List, which includes 201 films competing for the Best Picture nomination.
Among these entries, Indian films have made a strong showing. Hombale Films has confirmed that “Kantara: Chapter 1” and “Mahavatar Narasimha” are included on the list. This allows these films to compete not only for Best Picture but also in several other major categories, such as acting, directing, producing, production design, cinematography, and more.
Besides these, other Indian films like “Tourist Family,” “Tanvi the Great,” and “Sister Midnight” have also been submitted for consideration. The inclusion of multiple Indian films demonstrates the growing confidence in Indian cinema and shows that domestic films are gaining recognition on the global stage.
The filmmakers behind these projects are hoping to make a mark at the Academy Awards and highlight the talent, creativity, and storytelling coming from India. With international attention increasing, these entries reflect the rising presence of Indian cinema in world cinema.
