Easy and Delicious Anjeer Halwa Recipe

This is an easy-to-make, healthy halwa that is perfect for a winter dessert. It can be ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup dried figs (anjeer)

½ cup khoya/mawa

½ cup sugar

½ cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, raisins)

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

A few strands of saffron

Ghee

Almond slivers (for garnish)

How to Make Anjeer Halwa:

Soak the chopped figs in warm water for 2–3 hours until soft. Drain the water and blend the figs into a smooth paste using a mixer.

Heat some ghee in a pan. Add the fig paste and cook for 7–8 minutes until it starts leaving the sides of the pan.

Add khoya to the cooked fig paste and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Add sugar (or jaggery/brown sugar if you like) and continue cooking until the halwa becomes thick and smooth.

Add cardamom powder, chopped nuts, raisins, and saffron strands. Mix for 2–3 more minutes.

Once thick, garnish with extra nuts and switch off the heat.

Your delicious Anjeer Halwa is ready to serve!
