Easy and Healthy Chana Palak Rice Recipe
Chana Palak Rice is a healthy and tasty meal made with chickpeas and spinach. Both ingredients are nutritious, making this a perfect dish for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients:
1 cup chickpeas (boiled)
1 cup spinach puree
1 cup rice (soaked)
2 green chilies
1 onion, sliced
2 tbsp oil
½ tsp garam masala
1 bay leaf
2 green cardamom
2 cloves
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt, to taste
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
How to Make Chana Palak Rice:
Boil the chickpeas until soft. Blanch the spinach and make a smooth puree.
Heat oil in a deep pan. Add bay leaf, cloves, and cardamom. Fry for a few seconds.
Add onion and cook until soft and translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few seconds. Then add spinach puree and cook for a few minutes.
Mix in the boiled chickpeas. Add salt, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
Add the soaked rice and mix it with all the ingredients.
Pour in 3 cups of water and add lemon juice. Stir gently. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 15–20 minutes until rice is done.
Optional: You can cook it in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles instead of pan cooking.
Serve the Chana Palak Rice hot with chutney or raita.
