Many Drugs Found Substandard, CDSCO Alerts Public
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has reported that several drugs failed to meet quality standards in December 2025.
According to the monthly drug alert, Central Drug Laboratories found 74 samples from different manufacturers to be Not of Standard Quality (NSQ). In addition, State drug testing laboratories identified 93 more samples that did not meet the required quality standards.
This is part of CDSCO’s routine regulatory checks to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medicines. The list of NSQ and spurious drugs is published every month on the CDSCO portal so that healthcare providers and the public can stay informed.
Authorities continue to monitor drug quality strictly to protect patients from unsafe or low-quality medicines.
