Toxic Almont-Kid Batch Pulled from Market
The Telangana Drug Control Administration (DCA) on Saturday, January 10, 2026, issued a stop-use notice for a batch of Almont-Kid Syrup after it was found to be contaminated with toxic Ethylene Glycol (EG). The alert came after a sample of the medicine was tested at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), East Zone, Kolkata.
Almont-Kid Syrup is commonly prescribed for children to treat allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, and congestion.
The affected batch has the number AL-24002 and was manufactured in January 2025 by Tridus Remedies, a company based in Vaishali, Bihar.
The DCA has advised parents and caregivers not to use this batch and to report any adverse effects to a doctor immediately. Pharmacies and distributors have also been asked to remove this batch from sale to ensure the safety of children.
