₹14.63 Crore Development Works Inspected in Harbour
Development works worth ₹14.63 crore being carried out by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in the Harbour Assembly constituency were inspected on Wednesday by P.K. Sekarbabu, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments and Chairman of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA).
During the visit, the Minister reviewed the progress of several civic improvement projects aimed at improving public facilities and infrastructure in the area. Officials from the Corporation accompanied him and explained the status of each project.
According to an official press release, the main project inspected was the construction of a new community hall on V.O.C. Road in the Royapuram Zone. The hall is being built at a cost of ₹13.43 crore. The facility is expected to benefit local residents by providing space for social, cultural, and community events such as meetings, functions, and public programmes.
The authorities said that the construction work is nearly complete. The new community hall is scheduled to be opened for public use on February 8. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is expected to inaugurate the building.
Apart from the community hall, the Minister also reviewed other development works in the constituency and instructed officials to complete all projects on time and maintain quality standards. He stressed the importance of improving basic amenities for the public.
These projects are part of the Corporation’s efforts to enhance civic infrastructure and provide better facilities to residents in the Harbour area.
