AAP Leader Lucky Oberoi Shot Dead in Jalandhar

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satvinder Pal Singh, also known as Lucky Oberoi, was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified attackers in Jalandhar, Punjab, on Friday morning, February 6, 2026. The incident has shocked local residents and created concern about safety in the area.

According to the police, the attack took place outside a Gurdwara in the Model Town area. Mr. Oberoi had just finished offering prayers and was coming out of the Gurdwara when two men arrived on a scooter. The assailants reportedly opened fire at him and then quickly fled the scene.

He was seriously injured in the shooting. People nearby rushed to help, but he died from his injuries. Police reached the spot soon after and started an investigation to identify and catch the attackers.

Following the incident, Opposition parties criticised the AAP government, blaming it for the poor law and order situation in the State. They said such violent crimes show a failure to maintain public safety.

The police said they are checking CCTV footage and gathering evidence to track down the suspects. Security has also been increased in the area to prevent further incidents.
