Amit Shah to Visit Trichy, Karaikal
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Tamil Nadu on Friday evening for a two-day visit. His tour will cover Tiruchy in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
According to BJP sources, Amit Shah will land at Tiruchy airport around 6pm on Friday. He will stay overnight in the city. On Saturday morning, he will travel by helicopter to Karaikal.
In Karaikal, he is scheduled to address a public meeting at Santhai Thidal. Party leaders said the meeting is expected to draw a large crowd, with supporters from nearby areas likely to attend. The visit is seen as politically important as parties prepare for upcoming elections.
After the public meeting, Amit Shah will hold an internal meeting with BJP leaders at a hotel in Thirunallar. During this meeting, he is expected to review the party’s organisational work, discuss election strategies, and interact with local leaders.
Later in the evening, he will return to Tiruchy. Sources said he may also meet senior party functionaries and key supporters there before concluding his visit.
Security has been tightened in both Tiruchy and Karaikal ahead of the minister’s visit. Local police and central security agencies are making arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the programmes.
Party leaders believe the visit will strengthen the BJP’s presence in the region and boost the morale of party workers.
