Anbumani Ramadoss Criticizes DMK Over Dalit Issues

CHENNAI: Anbumani Ramadoss, the president of PMK, made serious allegations on Friday against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government. He said that Dalits are being treated only as a “vote bank” and are not receiving real welfare benefits or justice.

He made these comments while starting his campaign for PMK candidate K. Balu. Before beginning his campaign, he visited the Thiruporur Kandaswamy Murugan temple and offered prayers.

Anbumani said that the DMK government is using Dalit communities mainly for political support during elections, but not doing enough for their development in daily life. He claimed that despite political promises, Dalits are still facing a lack of proper welfare, dignity, and equal opportunities.

He also criticized the alliance between DMK and VCK, led by Thol Thirumavalavan. He said that even though VCK is given six to eight seats in elections, it does not lead to real empowerment or improvement in the lives of Dalits.

He further alleged that DMK has not given enough representation or meaningful positions to Dalits in the state cabinet or in key decision-making roles.

Overall, Anbumani Ramadoss said his campaign will focus on highlighting these issues and working for what he called “true social justice” and equal development for all communities.
