At Least 40 Killed in Spain Train Crash

In Spain, at least 40 people have been killed and many others injured after a tragic accident involving two high-speed trains in the southern part of the country. The crash has caused shock and grief across Spain and led to a massive emergency response.

According to the national rail network operator, the accident happened near the town of Adamuz. One high-speed train went off the tracks and crashed onto a nearby railway line. Moments later, another high-speed train travelling in the opposite direction also derailed after the collision.

Emergency services said that at least 73 people suffered serious injuries. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and worked non-stop to pull passengers out of the damaged train coaches. Officials said the rescue work was very difficult because the trains were badly damaged and twisted like scrap metal.

Emergency crews continued their efforts throughout the night to save survivors and recover the bodies of those who died. More than 40 injured passengers are still being treated in hospitals, and several remain in critical condition.
