Australia to Enforce Under-16 Social Media Ban

Starting December 10, social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and
Snapchat must remove users under 16 or face heavy fines.
Snapchat said, “Starting this week, many users will need to verify their age to
keep using Snapchat.”
Users can prove their age in three ways:
Using an Australian bank account
Using a government ID
Taking a photo of their face that a third-party service will use to estimate their
age
From December 10, accounts belonging to anyone under 16 will be locked.
Snapchat has also advised teenagers to download their data soon, because it may
be difficult after the ban begins.
