Bangladesh Youth Dies While Escaping Accusations

A 25-year-old youth named Mithun Sarkar died in Bangladesh after jumping into a canal while being chased by local people who accused him of snatching money. The incident led to tension in the area. It happened on Sunday afternoon in the Hatchakgouri Bazar area of Mahadebpur upazila in Naogaon district.

Mithun Sarkar was the son of Pinku Sarkar, a resident of Bhandarpur village in Mahadebpur upazila. After he went missing, his body was later recovered from a canal near Chakgouri Bazar on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police and local residents, the incident took place around 1:00 pm. A group of youths chased Mithun from Chakgouri Bazar after suspecting him of stealing money. While trying to escape from them, Mithun ran towards a nearby canal and jumped into the water.

Soon after entering the canal, he disappeared. Local people searched for him but could not find him. Later, a diver team from Rajshahi was brought in to help. After a search operation, the team recovered Mithun’s body from the canal.

Following the incident, tension spread in the area, and police were deployed to maintain law and order. Authorities are investigating the matter to understand the exact circumstances that led to his death.
