Bengal Agrees to Follow New Waqf Law

After months of refusing to follow the Centre’s new Waqf Amendment Act, 2025,
the West Bengal government has now accepted the law. Officials said the state has
been asked to upload details of 82,000 waqf properties on the central portal
before the December 5 deadline.

The Waqf Amendment Act, 2025, was passed in Parliament in April this year.
