BJP Tamil Nadu Faces Internal Tensions After Removals
The Tamil Nadu branch of the BJP is facing internal problems, as many
district-level leaders and unit members have been removed from their
positions over the past few months.
A recent incident involved the removal of a social media wing member
after he commented on state BJP president Nainar Nagenthran travelling
in Dindigul in a car that had an AIADMK flag. His comment created tension
within the party, especially among supporters of former state president
K. Annamalai.
One of Annamalai’s strong supporters, T. Pravin, who was the Villupuram
(North) social media cell secretary, publicly asked whether Nainar had
“mortgaged the Tamil Nadu BJP to Dravidian parties.” Because of this
comment, he was removed from his post within a few hours.
