Chennai Cruise Terminal Ready by April
Chennai Port’s newly renovated cruise terminal is almost ready and is expected to be fully operational by the first week of April. This much-awaited project will improve facilities for cruise passengers and make travel smoother and more comfortable.
Chennai Port Authority has taken up this major upgrade to modernise the port’s passenger handling system. The port covers a large area of 714.54 acres of land and has a water spread area of about 420 acres. With such a vast space, the new cruise terminal is expected to play an important role in boosting tourism and sea travel in the region.
The revamped terminal is designed to offer a better experience for passengers. Travelers will be able to embark and disembark easily through the new, modern building. The terminal will include spacious waiting halls, improved security checks, comfortable seating areas, and better immigration and customs facilities.
Officials believe the upgraded cruise terminal will attract more international and domestic cruise liners to Chennai. This will not only increase tourist arrivals but also support local businesses, hotels, transport services, and shops.
With the completion of this project, Chennai is set to strengthen its position as a key cruise destination on India’s eastern coast. The new terminal reflects the city’s growing importance in maritime tourism and infrastructure development.
