Chennai Road Accident Deaths Drop Over 10%

The Greater Chennai City Traffic Police (GCTP) said that road accident deaths dropped by over 10% in 2025 compared to 2024, up to December 23.

Last year, 534 people died in accidents by December 15, but this year the number fell to 479. Serious injury cases also fell sharply, dropping 64% from 2,093 last year to 721 in 2025.
