Chouhan Launches ‘Bharat Vistaar’ for Farmers

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday launched a new digital platform for farmers called ‘Bharat Vistaar’ in Jaipur. The platform is designed to help farmers become more informed, empowered, and connected through technology.

Through Bharat Vistaar, farmers can access important information with a single phone call using their mobile phones. The service aims to make it easier for farmers to get reliable guidance without needing advanced digital skills.

Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Chouhan called the initiative a historic step toward bringing a digital revolution to the agriculture sector. He said the platform will provide farmers with scientific advice based on their crops, along with information about mandi (market) prices and weather updates.

The Minister said the initiative will help extend the vision of Digital India to rural areas. By using technology, farmers will be able to make better decisions about their crops and improve productivity.

He also stressed that increasing farmers’ income requires connecting agriculture with allied activities such as animal husbandry. He said technology will play an important role in supporting both farming and livestock activities, helping farmers earn more and improve their livelihoods.

The Bharat Vistaar platform is expected to strengthen the use of digital tools in rural India and support farmers with timely and accurate information.
