CM Stalin Lays Foundation for Guindy-Velachery Flyover
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has officially laid the foundation stone for a new flyover that will connect Sardar Patel Road in Guindy with the Guru Nanak College junction in Velachery. The ceremony was held on Thursday and was conducted through a video conference from the Secretariat.
This flyover project was first announced during the Tamil Nadu Budget session in 2025. It is part of the state government’s plan to improve road infrastructure and reduce traffic problems in busy areas of Chennai.
The flyover is expected to help ease traffic congestion on one of the city’s busiest routes. Officials said that after the flyover is completed, people traveling between Guindy and Velachery will have a faster and smoother journey.
The construction will also make the road safer for both motorists and pedestrians. In addition to reducing travel time, the project is likely to benefit local businesses and improve the overall commuting experience for residents in the area.
Authorities have said that work on the flyover will begin soon and will be closely monitored to ensure it is completed efficiently and safely.
