Community Water Management Project Launched in Model Villages**
** The Centre of Excellence for Change Management (CEC), a group of professionals from various government departments, is leading an initiative to improve water management through community involvement. This program will start with pilot projects in selected villages across three districts. The CEC works with experts from public utilities and departments, including the Water Resources Department (WRD), to empower communities in managing their water resources effectively. Two model villages, Damal and Puthagaram, have been chosen in Kancheepuram district for this project. The goal is to expand the initiative to Tiruvallur and Madurai districts in the future. The pilot projects aim to educate villagers on water budgeting and conservation techniques, encouraging them to take an active role in managing their water supplies. This approach will help ensure sustainable water use and address potential shortages. By involving the community directly, the CEC hopes to create a long-term solution that benefits everyone. This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between government departments and local communities to achieve effective water management. The success of these pilot projects could pave the way for similar efforts in other areas, promoting efficient resource use nationwide.
